Here is bad news for mobile users once again. A new study conducted by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic have found that excessive call phone usage could lower male sperm count and quality. If this happens, men lose their fertility and will surely affect them if they wish to have a baby at some point in their life.

Cell phone and Sperm Count Technology is a boon in today’s day and age, but it is definitely a bane as well. Innumerable studies have been conducted to find out if mobile phones indeed cause headaches, disrupt sleep, increase the risk of mouth cancer and cause tumors. Then, came studies which proved that cell
phones are safe for short-term use.

Researchers have found that sperm counts and quality in men are inversely proportional to cell phone usage. This means that the more men used a cell phone, the lower their sperm count and quality was.

The study stated that men who use cell phones for more than four hours per day had the lowest sperm count and fewest visible sperm.

Men who used cell phones for only a few minutes a day had a much higher sperm count than men who used it for a few hours or more.

“Our results show a strong association of cell phone use with decreased semen quality. However, they do not prove a cause-and- effect relationship,” lead researcher Dr. Ashok Agarwal.

He stated that they saw a “significant decrease in the most important measures of sperm health with cell phone use and that should definitely be reflected in a decrease in fertility.”
