3Bananas –

This fruit helps maintain low blood pressure, thereby reducing cardiovascular risk. Taking into account the fact that cardiovascular disease causes more than 50% fatalities in diabetes, it’s definitely worth adding to your diet. The banana is also high in fiber, potassium, vitamin B6 and vitamin C.

Bell and cayenne peppers –

Who doesn’t love the punch of flavor peppers bring to food? Isn’t it great that Bell pepper is very low in calories and high in fiber? Cayenne pepper is made from dried red chilies. In 2006, researchers in Toronto injected mice suffering from type 1 diabetes with capsaicin, an active ingredient found in this spice. The mice were successfully cured of the condition! Capsaicin speeds up metabolism, has anti-inflammatory properties and is an antibacterial agent too.
