Trans Fats in Burger and Fries Woman who are of childbearing age, who wish to have children should cut all sources of trans fat from their diet, says a study. For, a new research has suggested that consuming trans fats increases a woman’s risk of infertility. Besides, consuming these unhealthy fats has strongly been linked to an increased risk for heart diseases.

In the study, nutrition researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that women with ovulation-related fertility problems tended to eat more trans fats than fertile women.

A doubled risk for trans fat- related infertility is associated with the fact that people obtain just 2 per cent of total calories from trans fats, instead of healthier monounsaturated fats.

Besides, each 2 per cent increase in trans fat consumption as a replacement for carbohydrates brought a bout a 73 per cent greater risk of ovulation-related infertility.
